認識活魚魚性
石門活魚為初級淡水魚，棲息於河川、水庫、湖泊的中下水域，游泳迅速，性情活潑。草食性，喜群游於水草叢生之處覓食，主要以水草、浮萍、蘆葦等為食，3至4歲成熟，成長迅速。
我國重要淡水經濟魚類中最負盛名者當推草魚（Ctenopharyngodon idellus ）、青魚(Mylopharyngodon piceus)、鰱(Hypophthalmictuthys molitrix)、鳙(Aristichthys nobilis)等世界著名的"四大家魚"，其中四大家魚之一草魚，肉質細嫩，骨刺少，營養豐富；鱗、皮可制膠，適合各種烹飪方式食用。

草魚
棲息深度：淡水5 - 30 公尺
最大體長：150 cm
形態特徵：身體延長，前部略呈圓筒狀，後部稍側扁，腹部圓，無肉稜，尾柄粗狀。
習性：棲息於水草繁生的河川、湖泊、水庫之中下層
餌食：雜食性、水草及牧草、葡萄、麥片、芭樂、玉米、反正依現有環境習慣都有可能。
青魚
俗名：烏溜、鰡仔、黑鯇、烏鰡、青魚
體長：可達150cm，一般在50-70cm
以養殖為主，除供市場及餐廳外，一般多供作池釣之用，為高經濟價值的淡水養殖魚類。
其體型雖與草魚相似，但頭部較尖些，咽頭齒大而呈臼齒狀、齒面平滑，是為與草魚最易區分之特徵。
體背側色呈青黑色、腹部灰白，長大後全身幾乎轉變為暗黑色，鰭皆為黑色，亦與草魚不同，也因此俗稱為烏溜。
草魚與青魚特性比較
草魚是台灣地區普遍常見的淡水大型養殖魚類，在野生環境中主要以湖底或邊緣的水生植物為食。
草魚和鯽魚類似，在養殖池內負責清除多餘的水草，由於草魚幾乎為素食主義者，基本上不太會搶食飼料，飼主會特地準備牧草以供其食用，當水中食物不足時，可愛的草魚會啃時食蔓生至水邊的雜草，成為名符其實的"草"魚。
別看牠們體重達二、三十台斤，他們可是性情活潑的魚種，常成群覓食，活動力也強，屬標準的混養魚種，在食物充足的狀況下，草魚成長非常迅速。
烏鰡稱"青魚"，魚體光滑、體色偏青黑色，在背部及魚鰭方面最為明顯，腹部呈灰白色。
野生的青魚以泥底或湖底的軟體動物或螺貝類為食，在養殖池中，青魚則扮演清道夫的工作，可將池內有害的螺類動物﹙如福壽螺﹚食用殆盡，屬於生長快速、生命力強的混養魚種。
辨別方法："草魚"和"烏鰡"都是鯉科魚種，體型都十分碩大，分辨牠們最好的方法是根據體色的差異來辨別，草魚體色偏"金黃色"，烏鰡體色則較深，幾乎是"深灰色"，另外，烏鰡的頭部外觀較尖，草魚則較為圓齊，這點也可作為分類時的依據。
